The human mind is an incredibly powerful thing capable of helping us to achieve amazing results in our lives. When it is working with us then it seems that there is nothing we can’t do.
Unfortunately our upbringing, and the events that happen to us during our lives especially during childhood can change the way our mind responds to things, leading to problems.
These events result in unhelpful ‘programming’ of the mind that while keeping us safe may limit us from doing the things we want in life. An example of this is seeing a parent frightened of a spider when we are young and impressionable. Our mind detects the fear we feel and to keep us safe causes us to panic when we see a spider for the rest of our lives.
Whilst phobias are an obvious example of where this programming has happened we all have less unpleasant but just as limiting feelings. Faced with public speaking or having to attend a job interview we can feel anxiety which isn’t helpful when we need to perform. Using Hypnotherapy it is possible to ‘mess up’ these programs and force the mind to re-create them without the unhelpful feelings thus liberating us from the fears holding us back.
Modern Hypnotherapy is a collaboration between the client and the therapist. There is no deep relaxation needed and in fact a lot of changes can be made without you even having to close your eyes.
As well as solving problems, Hypnosis can be very helpful with motivation to achieve things. Whether that is weight loss, studying or training for a sport, having your mind working with you rather than against you can make things a lot easier and much more successful.
